WHAT IS TAKOYAKI?

Takoyaki is a savory Japanese street food in the shape of a ball (about the same size as a golf ball) and is cooked in a special cast iron griddle to get its signature shape. This addictively delicious bite-sized eat originated in the Osaka prefecture of Japan in 1935.
Takoyaki is made up of four main parts: the slightly crisp shell, doughy inside and a piece of tako (octopus) tucked inside and of course, topping that range from traditional to creative.
